8. Slap City: Yeah I think I'm putting on my jean shorts... maybe even partake in the greatest death sport.

7. Fraymakers: I wish this didn't go into early access so early! Its really solid and has insane potential with workshop support but the slow development's really killed a lot of the hype it could've had, hope that changes with the final release. You can really tell the devs care for this project.

6. Toaster Dog in Dreamworld:
Just a small demo for a game Dizzyspells/Cibastion made awhile ago, its got a super unique vibe going for it and you can really tell this entire project was pushing RPGMaker to its limits. Its fairly short at just under 2 hours but its definitely something I'd rec.

5. Star of Providence (Formerly Monolith): Been replaying this like Hellsinker and man its such a gem in the shmup AND roguelike sphere, the boss rush trials, true last boss of loop 13, and so many other new additions really made this a love letter to the genre as a whole.

4. Hellsinker: I've played this off and on for years tbh, but it didn't really click until recently, by far one of the most unusual and downright insane shmups you could ever play, but also one of the most genre-defining doujin shmups you could ever play, there's really nothing else like it.

Also if feel free to mute this thread if you aren't interested in seeing it!

3. Picayune Dreams: I absolutely despise the arena/vampire survivors format but this game might be the singular outlier in how much fun it is to play, great style, gameplay loop, and a very interesting approach to unwrapping its story. Also who knew drum and bass + vocaloid would go that crazy.

2. ASTRONAUTILUS: A real hidden gem its in the roguelike genre that tackles the horizontal shmup angle VERY well, all the bosses, levels, story, and side quests feel like an absolutely blast to engage with and figure out, plus all the new additions in its content update rock as well. 10/10

1. Babushka's Glitch Dungeon: I'm not even halfway through it but what a little gem of a game, feels like a combination of a nonlinear exploration + puzzle solving while being limited to 2 abilities, kinda feels akin to the 2D segments from Link's Awakening if you made that a full game.
