If you're looking for more cloche representation in chronometers, the Royal Observatory in Greenwich does not disappoint. I just love this little monkey robot looking guy. Even if he does have to stay in there because his alien body cannot survive the atmosphere on our planet, presumably.

Some days I can't even serenely contemplate some truly ornate guttering without spiraling off into how it was once in the garden of a now-demolished manor house and the super-ultra-wealthy these days don't even have the common decency to make all the suffering they cause artistically worthwhile.

Cybertruck pinata helps the kids learn early. Taco baby trump balloons add flavor to the occasion. No Kings.

Marc and Isambard Brunel's Thames Tunnel -- ridiculously expensive folly never able to move the cargo for which it was intended? Wellspring of inventions in tunnel boring technologies? Eighth wonder of the world? All of this and more!

Have you considered going to the Alexandra & Ainsworth Estate and seeing if you can get up that enchanting ladder to the roof? I didn't even try and looking at it now I feel such a fool.

Finally got to see where time comes from. Found it! It's right there! You can stand astride the bit of it inside the building and look through a tube at the bit of it outside the building! (I am too short for this job.)

How did I get this far in life unaware of the 'lobate' foot option?
BBC Wildlife says of the coot: "Each toe sports hinged flaps that increase the foot’s surface area for swimming but can fold back out of the way when not in use."
WHERE ARE *MY* HINGED TOE FLAPS, DAMMIT?!

National Building Museum's Visible Vault exhibit showed me this alternate design for the water feature at the WWII memorial. I cannot believe we have all been denied such magnificence. That thing has real physical and emotional heft.

Today we celebrate my first and best love. Chicken. The years have brought me sophistication, AKA El Pollo Rico Arlington VA. Only the very best in counter-service chicken dining!

Among the list of things I am currently anxious about: Did some of the galleries in the National Building Museum where I took photographs actually prohibit photography? By sharing my pictures, am I encouraging miscreant behavior and making the staff's jobs harder? Pictured: American Brick Collection

It's like I never before put my gargoyle-bat out for Alex to cuddle. No wonder he's been yelling in the hallway every night at 3am.

People's March is for feeling connection to a community so broad it feels like strangers most other times. And walking a lot of the city, where we are and what we have. Then focusing local and celebrating the birthplace of the Fauci Pouchy: Capo Deli.

Sometimes I feel like Minneapolis-St Paul is making an unusually strong bid for my affection. Like, knowing that I didn't make it to the State Fair this year they put this crop-art masterpiece right there in the airport for me? Bliss.

If the marionettes don't look like this, you may not be enjoying Cripps Puppets. Which is sad because they would like nothing more than to enjoy you.

I like puppets, trains, and architecture. Huge puppet in a train station? You don't have to tell me twice.
