What I call Serfdom of the Self is when our identities, attention, and even emotions become dependent on digital systems we don’t control. We hand over more of our inner lives to these systems, and in return they decide the conditions of our existence.

Even when addressing book banners, I thank them for everything they've done to support libraries so that "I actively work against librarians" happens in THEIR head, not from my mouth. No one will interrupt or argue if to do so they have to disabuse you of the notion that they care.

All people with dating profiles should openly state that they will not date ICE agents. Spouses should be taken to counseling over their life choices, since a lot of people don't want to pay for dinner with money their spouse earned rounding people up.

I just want the Democrats, as a whole, to stop trotting out guys who look like they're about to meet in a back room to discuss how to take out the Batman.
