This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester

During a White House meeting on August 18, 2025, Trump suggested that if the U.S. were at war in 2028, elections might be canceled. This was in response to Zelenskyy's statement that elections cannot be held during wartime.

May be he doesn't want to chance the 2026 elections?
