I keep trying to tell people this. Eg @georgemonbiot.bsky.social is always saying things like "Why are they trying to beat Reform by moving to the right? It's such bad strategy"

No, it's not a "strategy", it has nothing to do with Reform, it's the Labour Right doing what their backers tell them to.

Telegraph report is horseshit. And in other news ice is cold.

(If there's anyone left by then to say it!)

Too true. It's like how people won't believe that fossil fuels are the thing driving climate change. Only once they've stubbornly tried "offsetting" every biogenic source they can think of and the temperature is still going up will people say _okay, maybe we should stop burning oil and gas_.

There would be a certain karma if the Greens got twice as many seats as the Tories on the same vote share.

To be fair it's not an entirely stupid idea to ask what the cultural links between Jeffrey Epstein and all of the visitors to his island are.

As an outside observer I think trying to keep everyone safe from ice is the most important thing going on in America right now. Well done and thank you.

Aside from the question of honesty and betrayal, there's also the nature of the downward slope.

Is what Starmer is doing worse than what the Tories did for the last 14 years? Yes, it is.

Is it worse than what they *would be doing now*? Not necessarily, the Tories would likely be doing the same.

‘This is worse than Mordor!’ said Sam. ‘Much worse in a way. It comes home to you, as they say; because it is home, and you remember it before it was all ruined.’

Can you imagine a UK politician saying that they're an unapologetic supporter of Russian Imperialism*? The only difference is that the media chooses to criticise one while ignoring the other.

* Yes, I know most of Reform are just that, but they would never say so in public.

Glad to see he's taken the gloves off 🤪

It's simple really: RW governments don't want to make societies wealthier, they want to make the super rich wealthier.

These attacks on @zackpolanski.bsky.social smell like Bad Hasbara to me. What say you @mattlieb.bsky.social?

I suspect most of them dislike Israel's actions, but are too scared to say so because of the antisemitism smear campaign.

Hi @jujuliagrace.bsky.social, where can I get a "Wes Streeting is an arsehole - I support striking doctors" t-shirt?

Reaganite/Neoliberal deregulation, that's what happened to it.

@unitetheunion.bsky.social

Unite has exactly one lever of control over the Labour Party: funding.

As long as it refuses to operate that lever these posts are "all talk and no trousers".

Notice: If Unite has *still* not taken action in the spring then I will, by ending my Unite membership.
