this essay is like half marxist daydreaming about mass proletarian organizations and half absolutely fucking savage takedown of The Groups and their associated ideology. read it, it's a banger.

I’m very proud of this essay, even though I would change a few things about it (like the tendency thing). Maybe try to put some concrete examples into it, which I tried to avoid to emphasize that the tendency was pervasive—that it was a political logic, not a factional m.o. unique to right or left

One thing I’d clean up about that article is to make clear “tendency” is meant more literally than the meaning it often has on the left. It is a tendency, not a Tendency. Meaning not a faction, but a way of thinking. Hilariously the drafts show this

I sat on it for almost a year after my first draft because I was waiting for @jeremylevine.bsky.social’s book to be published; I’d read a chapter of it and knew I needed to fully delve into his research. Constructing Community dropped in June 2021 and that was when my rewrites started in earnest

outside of individual donations to gofundmes and such, one helpful destination for your money right now is this bond fund. everyone being released from broadview needs to pay $1500 bond, which is obviously insane. it's going to cost like $925k to successfully spring 615 people linktr.ee/mw_bondfund
