It’s funny how Wikipedia used to seem relatively unreliable, because it was written by regular people instead of encyclopedia experts, and now it seems relatively reliable, because it’s written by regular people instead of glib CliffsNotes robots
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

White settlers taking native Americans hostage in order to force an immigration agreement with the tribe, in the literal year 2026
The Department of Homeland Security is refusing to release information on 3 detained Oglala Lakota tribal members who are being held at Fort Snelling, a former concentration camp for Native people, unless the tribe enters into an immigration agreement with ICE.
Oglala Sioux Tribe accuses federal authorities of treaty violation after four members detained by ICE
“Members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe are United States citizens. We are the first Americans.”

Reading this, one thing that's striking (and yes, obvious in a way) is how so many of these people are protected by anonymity. Unmasking is such a crucial step in fighting this stuff. This also applies to ICE.

It’s unmistakable how much the way institutions treat lying federal officials is the same way they treat lying abusers and predators. Even when they contradict themselves, admit to wrongdoing, and repeatedly undermine their own credibility, institutions support their side over their victims.

RFK Jr high-fives Stephen Miller: nice, man, didn’t even have to give them measles
Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.
That is what was relayed

Infuriating story about a young mom, just a few weeks pregnant and with a serious heart condition, getting substandard care everywhere she turned
1/ Ciji Graham was the mother of 2-year-old SJ, a sister to 9 younger siblings, a beloved friend.

She's also the 7th case we’ve found of a pregnant woman in a state restricting abortion who died after being unable to access standard care.

This is her story.

Personally, I am assuming a lot of people previously tracked as white domestic terrorists are now *in* ICE, though maybe they’re just kicking back and this is a separate group of *other* people comfortable doing domestic terrorism

More evidence for the “POTUS is actually Stephen Miller in a skin suit” theory
ICE officers tell media that the conduct in Minneapolis is part of a plan by Stephen Miller to provoke as much violence and death as possible—which in turn will be taken as pretext for more. “They’re essentially operating now in a resource constraint-free environment and doing very dangerous things”
Former members of ICE say recent violence is "by design"
"What has changed is there has been an encouragement from the top to be much more aggressive in enforcement."

Seems pretty dark that a majority of Republicans will sign on to an ICE officer shooting a protester in the head, despite video that shows her trying to deescalate the conflict and drive away. Overall, however, only around a quarter of people think that's fine
New CNN polling:

Most Americans see an immigration officer’s fatal shooting of Renee Good as an inappropriate use of force. Roughly half view it as a sign of broader issues with the way ICE is operating, w/under 1/3 saying that ICE operations have made cities safer.

The people celebrating ICE enjoy watching masked men terrorize and abuse women and children. They love it! They enjoy watching the videos of the violence first, then create justifications for that violence in reverse. Their ICE support is predicated on wanting the violence to escalate and continue
