For the better part of a year, my dear friend @toriamos.bsky.social has been talking about this new project. It's absolutely her most ambitious project to date, so I was very proud and honored to be asked to contribute the key art for the album and tour announcement!

I'm helping to produce an original play about the Finnish/Russian Winter War. First up is the Live Reading, which they are running a small Kickstarter for. This is a true story that is vital for the times we are in, and a little support means a lot at this critical stage.

He defended his nation, now he must defend his name. A new play, inspired by true events. Written by Satu.

I've been moving my daily online time away from FB and BlueSky, over to longer form writing and interactions on Substack, where a lively indie film community is developing. This includes my monthly media consumption survey.

There's 2/3rds of a great movie there. I'd recommend TIGERS ARE NOT AFRAID or RAW over it.

It does. Proven over and over. We choose to do this, to punish the sin of poverty. We pay extra for the cruelty.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

Have I told you this book is great? I'm not even to chapter 10 and have gasped/sobbed aloud multiple times. Goddamn... It's really great. The last line of chapter 5? Perfection.

Or... Bear with me... Maybe the person is a double shitburger on a moldy conman roll?

I had the same experience. Very light tenderness on the arm the second day. Other than that? Aces.

If you’re rich and not a coward, this is what you’d refer to as a “market opportunity” to dominate a media ecosystem that’s about to be covered in grotesque government slop. To be a pop of color in a sea of beige will be easier than ever. People will flock to it. You gotta be a little brave, though.

By the way, you can in fact run a media business where people give you money for goods and services. 56k+ people give The Onion ~$100 and we give them a year of newspapers. This business didn’t exist last year in this way. People will pay for good shit. Now’s the time to break glass and go for it.

“The most valuable thing to me in terms of my mental health is to read a poem or see a painting or listen to music which speaks to me, which breaks me open for a moment, and where I feel an experience honestly & delicately portrayed. That’s another reason AI can never create anything artistically.”
‘Hollywood has everything to do with the terrible state of the world’: Charlie Kaufman on AI, Eternal Sunshine and toothache

They've clumsily copped every action from Germany and Italy in the run up to WWII, so... Yeah I think Trump needed a Horst Wessel and found himself one.

As always "Cui Bono?"

It sure ain't ANYONE on the left.

Charlie Kirk said the Epstein files should be released, prior to his assassination, which made a lot of MAGA and Trump’s circle angry.

"The DOJ should immediately move to unseal all the Epstein...Every file should be released to the public."

I will fully admit that, while I'm not a conspiracy guy, my first thought was "Trump needed his own Horst Wessel, and so he made sure he got one that would have the most impact in terms of perception, with the least impact to his plans and operations"
