And since you're going to say "but how does the number of people relate to my point", the number of people is directly relevant because no matter how good the tech or the money (your point), they quite simply don't have the manpower to pacify a population this big.
January 11, 2026 at 4:06 AM
Literally the post you quoted to make your point:

"They don’t have the juice or manpower for it."

'it' being martial law. That was the topic of discussion.
January 11, 2026 at 4:04 AM
What part of "I just did the numbers on this for somebody" is hard to understand?

Face it, you misread my initial post, went off about it, and were wrong. I'm happy to engage too but you need to take a breath.
January 11, 2026 at 3:11 AM
I expect you to be able to read a sentence, understand its providing the context of where this information is coming from, and see that it applies to the discussion of available forces. Instead of ranting about somebody not able to engage with an idea.

But apparently that's too much to ask of you.
January 11, 2026 at 2:07 AM
No
January 11, 2026 at 12:43 AM
Did I say you made the argument? No. I said I did the numbers already already to respond to that argument. Specifically here. But you would rather quote me like I was making some other point so you can rant. Now who's failing to engage with an idea?

All he has to do is commit one atrocity at a voting site to guarantee that nobody comes out to vote. He doesn't have to cancel voting, just terrify people into staying home.

Just 3 ICE brownshirts with full-auto weapons at each voting site would be enough.

So instead of replying to me and addressing the points you decided to just jump into a new thread to continue your doomer posts. Done here.
a man is holding a camera and saying `` my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle. ''

ICE's insane ramp up last year certainly jumped numbers...from 10K to 22K. That's way short of 2 million. And its always going to be easier to hire at the start of this, at this point they've already got every fascist who wants to cosplay as a solider. Where do the rest come from?
January 10, 2026 at 10:52 PM
No, they have 27% of the population willing to sit and home and watch FOX News and root for what's going on in Minneapolis.

When those same people are told their city is under martial law and now they can't go to the bar or their neighbor informed on them or whatever the support drops significantly
January 10, 2026 at 10:49 PM
And? I gave you every cop and solider, even though in reality they wouldn't get it. Its still not enough.
January 10, 2026 at 10:46 PM
They don't have the forces to declare martial law in even 1-2 of our biggest metro areas but lets say they can lock down the top 12. That still leaves:

SF, Seattle, San Diego, Twin Cities, Denver, Baltimore, Portland, Pittsburgh, and Vegas, just to name a few blue state cities.
January 10, 2026 at 10:46 PM
It doesn't matter. There are, assuming they get buy in from every agent, cop, and front-line soldier (and they won't), a little over 1 million troops they could use for martial law.

To control a 350 million person population, many of them well armed, over 3.8M square miles.

Do the math.
January 10, 2026 at 10:36 PM
~800K cops in this country. 22K ICE agents. ~300K front-line troops in the military.

That's still less than 1 armed representative of a fascist government for every 350 Americans, many of them well-armed. While everything else is undefended

That's not a ratio that results in successful martial law
January 10, 2026 at 10:34 PM
What the hell do you think Minneapolis is doing right now?
January 10, 2026 at 10:27 PM
'Won't' and 'Can't' aren't the same thing. Martial law is the latter.
January 10, 2026 at 10:26 PM
ICE put out a press release at the end of the year about their most successful hiring and growth ever.

They increased from 10K to 22K agents.

They talk big, but 22K agents isn't enough to have ongoing marital law in some of our biggest cities much less a whole country.
January 10, 2026 at 10:24 PM
Populations under martial law don't buy things, which is generally very very bad for Wall Street outside the MIC.
January 10, 2026 at 10:07 PM
I'm not even sure they can do it WITH full buy-in, but you're right they sure as hell can't do it without it. There are ~2.1M members of the military, but only 10-20% are front line "combat troops". So call it 300K that could be put on the streets. 1 front-line troop for every 1100-1200 people.
January 10, 2026 at 10:06 PM
I just did the numbers on this for somebody claiming that Trump could place 3 ICE agents at every polling place to intimidate voters. There are ~100K polling places in the country. There are 22K ICE agents even after the recent hiring.

Do the math. The manpower isn't there for marital law.

I laughed and you gave me a new account to follow in @shelatneel.bsky.social

Possible, which suggests that it is also possible that a DA in Minnesota couldn't get an indictment. So yeah, lets all give the DA and local police time to do this right.
January 10, 2026 at 4:30 PM
Here’s a comment for the people who are upset that MN hasn’t charged Jonathan Ross already:

If you just Leeeroy Jenkins this shit you will lose and you will empower fascism and murder.

It is indescribably hard to prosecute cops for murder. It is even hard when the murder is ON VIDEO.
