I highly recommend the book "1929" by Andrew Ross Sorkin. Even if you've read about the crash before, this book brings it to life. It's not dry. It reports the bankers involved. An interesting tidbit was that Winston Churchill was in town, as a guest of some Wall Streeters, at the time of the crash.

I'm still talking to you because of the cute dog in your profile.
It's about leverage. There are tough decisions to make when you're dealing with irrational and cruel people like the GOP. The shutdown was the leverage. The subsidies were removed in the legislation.
...your still having health issues. Interesting.

I'm not wrong. It's about severity and recovery. The subsidies are gone. The GOP will not give them back. That's over.
...hungry.

If you think we were stronger when people went hungry, and are weaker now that we have a full year of funds and supplies, you're wrong. We can now keep the government shutdown from Feb 1 to November 4.

What have we lost that we cannot replace or adapt or O er

Losing healthcare is permanent and may be deadly. Losing SNAP benefits is temporary and probably wouldn't have resulted in deaths. It was a game of chicken and the Dems choked
How would maintaining the shutdown have resulted in republicans restoring subsidies, but pausing it to secure funding for SNAP to September 30, a bad thing?

The only material change is SNAP funding, which obviously is not a reason subsidies are expiring

Can you actually articulate any actions

Let's remove the Hateful Eight Dem senators, who caved on the shutdown (and allowed millions to lose their health care), from their committee assignments. How about that? Yank Durbin off judiciary etc. You're traitors. You don't deserve the honors.

With this fresh news about Trump, I sometimes wonder how his son Barron feels about him. Does he think Trump is cool because of the crypto, and fame and power? Or does he know he's disgusting?

Pakistan is blaming India-backed proxies from Afghanistan for their bombing. On the other hand, India is still calling their explosion an "explosion" rather than a bomb and I've seen nothing about who might be responsible?
