It did weirdly come with an empty cartridge, I presume so it can be eyedropped with ink. For now I'll run down the pilot black it came with. A great office buy or EDC.

The eBay special fountain ken buy direct from Japan is here. I don't normally go for bold colours I don't mind this mustard yellow Pilot Vanishing Point. So much cheaper than UK prices and writes like a dream - plus that clever mechanism is amazing. Didn't come with a converter but no hardship.

Lovely few days in Dundee and surrounding parts with @jakefraser.bsky.social and @iankey.bsky.social (ft Jake's camera work at the baltic Dundee Law). I love Scotland more than any other part of the UK and it saddens me to leave every time.

Channelling the autumn vibes with a TWSBI Diamond 580ALR Affogato and KWZ old gold ink. I don't generally favour brown tones but it feels like a good match and very much fits the weather outside.

Folks gave me a Guildford Flames 🏒⛸️ scarf as an early Christmas present. It's clear they've been waiting heads for me to be interested in ✨sports✨ and are going to lay into it big time

Well sod it, if I'm gonna have two old timers inked up might as well pick gooduns. Here a slightly smaller Sheaffer Balance than my previous, in a jewelled resin pattern and a fine nib. Sample written with Diamine Soft Mint. Again, this pen will probably date from between 1935 and 1940 or so.

I don't often ink up the great grandfather of my collection, but I always love it when I do. A beautiful, if slightly rough around the edges, Sheaffer Balance from the mid 1930s with a fine nib. Writes well, slightly angle sensitive but nothing major. Certainly doing well for 90 odd years old

I didn't get very far last time I got into #startrekonline previously but sticking with it - and, with my first infinity box unlock, I lucked out with a T6 ship unlock. Picked the Trafalgar class, proper simp for that TMP vibe and she's a machine.

If you want something that's relatively fuss free, I'd pick a slightly later Sheaffer. Something like a Sheaffer Imperial - uses a cartridge/converter so is simple for maintenance and those inlaid Triumph nibs are gorgeous. They made them from the 60s/70s through to the 90s.

Well hello you gorgeous fountain pen. The packaging is pretty extra not gonna lie, it's huge, but I love it! The free ink included is a nice touch too. I've included my (large) hand for comparison. It writes like a dream, buttery smooth with the teeny tiniest hint of feedback. This Pilot's a corker
