OMG what a wild week! I’m freaking thrilled to be a Bram Stoker nominee! “She Sheds Her Skin” is the first new story I’ve had published in eight years. It means so much to know that people are connecting with it, and to be included on a list with so many other writers I respect and admire!

Finished my first read of 2025 and it was a good one: Stories are Weapons by Annalee Newitz. Highly recommend, especially as a companion to Filterworld by Kyle Chayka, which I read last summer.

I sort of hemmed and hawed about making an eligibility post, but why not? I had a good year in this respect and it’s a nice feeling to get to be a little proud of it.

Copy that. I was going based on the fact that actual multilingual signage in NYC usually would include Arabic, and I feel like that’s what this misguided graphic designer was probably going for, bless their heart, before they landed on a font like “Arabian Onenightstand” as pictured below.
