I've heard people say having kids is an act of optimism about the world.

No offense to anybody having kids but I really don't feel like bringing a child into this hellhole of a world makes a lot of sense right now!

But if I was then to say "They used these tools, I can't watch or subscribe to them even if they stopped using them" that feels incredibly over the top as a response, not least because it would be deeply hypocritical.

If "Do better" is your attitude towards people using it, recognise doing better
