Making solid progress on my challenge to read 10 books this year. Completed The Silmarillion today, and I’ve started The Solar War by John French. The first of the final series of novels in The Horus Heresy.

Steaming through my second reading of The Silmarillion, this time expertly narrated by @andyserkis.bsky.social just got to the bit where Fingolfin goes toe to toe with Morgoth. Morgoth recreates that scene from American History X on Fingolfin’s neck. Brutal.

Approx 500,000 people behind me in the queue, but the 51,000 ahead of fought it out for the 20,000ish general admission tickets. Sold out in 12mins. Only VIP Gold Circle tickets left at £3k a piece. No thanks. 😢
