☄️Last night was our shot to see the peak of the Orionid Meteor Shower. The constellation Orion has many more things going on too...like the Orion Nebula!! It's visible to the naked eye in the "sword" of Orion, just below Orion's Belt. It's a huge cloud of gas & dust where new stars are being born.

Last night's Harvest Super Moon!

This is The Heart Nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, about 7,500 light-years from Earth.

It is not possible to see this with the naked eye.

I attached hundreds of long exposure images from last night on top of each other & edited to bring out more details.

Such a moving, original film. Need to ponder it more.

Made it home safely, a little harrowing due to HEAVY rain. This is what A and I saw as we walked out of the theater at 5:30 in Greensburg (and then basically ran to our cars before it hit):

YARD FRIEND: This garter snake was in my yard. They are non-venomous and help control pests like rodents, insects, and slugs that can damage plants. It is welcome to return to my yard anytime it wants.

My porch right now.... (It's icy). 😂
Seriously, be careful. There were slick spots on my way home, and my windshield was freezing. Check your footing before you take your first step outside!

Bird Fact: The Dark-Eyed Junco spends its winter over much of North America, flocks of Juncos can be found around woodland edges and suburban yards, feeding on the ground. East of the plains states the Juncos are all gray and white.

The coldest night in a decade!!!! With a temperature early this morning of -9⁰, #Pittsburgh had it's coldest temperature since February 20, 2015 when we hit -10⁰. The ice on the Allegheny River, cause by the frigid temps we've been having, is certainly a sight to see!

The Allegheny River is locked in ice. #Pittsburgh
⚠️Remember, River ice is NEVER safe to walk on. With moving water beneath it, it could break at any moment!

My cousins, Andy and Tiffany, have some DEEP snow in Ashtabula, OH. Notice the snow is the same level back to the tree, so that isn't a pile of snow.... Everything is that deep! The snow on their back porch is over Gizmo The Goldendoodle's head!

The last November #tornado in SW Pennsylvania was in 2017, almost in the same area as the damage being surveying today, to see if a tornado caused damage yesterday. On record, 3 tornadoes have been confirmed in SW PA in the month of November. (Not including yesterday, since it's not yet confirmed)
