I’ve just finished reading The Women Could Fly by Megan Giddings. A little bit Practical Magical. A whole lot Margaret Atwood. Has anyone else read it? What did you think?

Next up is The Stone of Destiny by Andrew Neil MacLeod.

The Haven Chronicles is a futuristic fantasy series with magic, robots, high tech cities, and mystical beasties.

The best place to start is right at the beginning with Haven Wakes.

P.S. Read my handy guide to the series here:

If you’ve read Haven Wakes and Magic Bound, book three of the series, Haven’s Deceit, is ready for you to buy.

Grab it on Amazon, from Waterstones, or by asking for it at your local book shop.

I’m writing the fourth book in the series right now.

Starmer continues to storm forward hell bent on throwing away his election victory by constantly courting Reform voters and destroying the hopes of traditional Labour voters. Reform nutcases will never vote for him, and Labour voters will probably turn to the Libs or Greens. He's an idiot.

As I watch Starmer tear up Labour's prospects by attacking people in poverty, abusing those who care about the living world and appeasing the ultra-rich, I feel the same sense of dislocation as I did before the Iraq War. Anyone can see the disaster coming, except, apparently, the government.

I don’t know who Scott Bessent is but I do know that he is a soft cock. He’s so scared of the orange prick that he’s willing to debase himself in public time after time. He’s is the Renfield to Trumps Dracula. But without the glamour Or the teeth.

Where’s Farage? Where’s Liz? They’ve gone unusually quiet now that their orange monkey god has fucked the world’s economy. Where’s the collapse of the EU? Where’s the trade deals? Bastards both of them.
