Unfortunately the administration has been completely silent on the issue. This is in stark contrast to 8 years ago when they sent out many emails talking about “unwavering support” and “core principles“.

… so they can only be a giant pain on the butt (which they are and this is the way we should should always view them).

I just think that they will soon need to agree on a reasonable candidate for 2028. So they will know that the future won't be dominated by trump as much and some reps may want to step forward to distinguish them from his style; especially since things are probably going south pretty soon.

This time it’s only a slim majority though. I also hope that reps know that the trump era is coming to an end. So hopefully more people will start to revolt.

Also many reps will start to plan for their own reelection campaign and will start to worry about some of his extreme right wing positions. I think they will expect that his career is over in 4 years and I expect reps to revolt or backstab pretty soon.

I am certainly very concerned about the next 4 years, but I don’t think he will manage to achieve absolute power. The constitution is pretty unambiguous about term limits. Also, while he may surround himself with yes-men in the White House, he only has a slim majority in congress.

I think they prefer continuity and certainty in terms of regulations. They know that such a change will be undone in 4 years.
