for me as someone originaly from Russia this disclaimer really makes a difference, thank you. sadly, I see so many people equal the country with its government that I am not surprised by this at all.

yeah I think this is largely addressed to agencies and airlines where the government can exercise some control hence there is reduction but not to zero. while private travellers don’t care at all 🤷‍♀️

I saw it on a flight to Japan too! that was already on a personal screen and I was pleasantly surprised they had something decent. great movie that gets more and more relevant each year.

I ended up with pneumonia after neglecting this one for a week. after that had to spend 3 weeks in bed. still get tired after a walk. not fun at all

man this is so true. I sometimes try using twitter for this purpose and it drives me nuts each time. so much slop, ads, bots etc. and there really is no alternative. a huge part of how I used to get information about things happening in Japan is just gone.

but truly the best thing is the opportunity to connect more with my son and play games together. we play board games too of course, and yet this goes way deeper. I think it creates some truly unique experiences that one remembers for many years since.

in some of them the story and writing are genuienly the same level as Great Literature (disco elysium obviously). others are at least like guilty pleasure fantasy. I don’t think there is really any difference with the time spent on netflix tv show for example, maybe even more productive

haha yeah, I think with no Ghibli it would get much more difficult. perhaps some classic comedies. or twin peaks? there are at least a few episodes of twin peaks that I watched 10+ times

the one is used by real people while the other is infested with bots and ai slop. I guess there is no way to tell the difference and so we should proclaim both “echo chambers”.
