Poor picture on the way home but the current giant statue at Snuggbury's is Paddington. Looks amazing in real life

Fourth and final National Inventory pub this holiday, the 3* Half Moon Inn at Cheriton Fitzpaine. Nice 6X, friendly chat and lovely pub. Liked the glazed divide between bar and lounge especially.

Next the Kings Arms, great beers and friendly welcome in both pubs

Nice mooch round Winkleigh today. 2 pubs in village, both open all day, yards apart and 7 real ales between them! First the Seven Stars

Separate back bar and bowling alley. What a belting pub, well worth a 35 mile cycle!

Puffing Billy cafe for food and warmth. Lovely. What a fantastic day so far
November 19, 2025 at 2:05 PM
Lovely downhill but cold with a headwind and no pedalling. Definitely doing it the right direction down to the sea though!

Not as bad as feared but still climbing that I hadn't planned on. Back to the flat!
November 19, 2025 at 1:02 PM
Far too heavy for 13% climbs but got up somehow to Meeth and the start of the #TarkaTrail. Lovely trail so far but typically part is shut later. Bet the diversion has chevron climbs!

Cycling the Tarka Trail to Barnstaple. Horrid climbing before I even getting the start. Lovely scenery in North Devon.

Still can't believe I managed to climb up to Haytor and cycle part of Dartmoor. Breathtaking in a couple of ways. You can't go wrong with @jackthurston.bsky.social Lost Lanes books.

Getting some Slaughtered Lamb vibes from the Cleave Inn at Lustleigh. Great pub though and a cracking pint of Jail Ale. Short downhill to finish, great way to end a fantastic ride
November 16, 2025 at 5:08 PM
scary downhills but lovely lanes and villages
November 16, 2025 at 4:59 PM
finally the highest point. Legs shredded. Mostly downhill from here

Dartmoor cycling, tough but spectacular
November 16, 2025 at 4:46 PM
of course that should have been stillage. Original servery was this hatch to the side
November 16, 2025 at 2:06 PM
Gem alert. The Rugglestone Inn, National Inventory 2 star. Lovely pub, great beers on spillage behind the bar. Friendly chat with staff and customers. Superb.

Nice village Widecombe. Quick stop at the Old Inn was a little disapponting
November 16, 2025 at 2:03 PM
climbing was awful but fair play the views and cycling up on Dartmoor are amazing. Scary downhill though hard on the brakes!
November 16, 2025 at 1:59 PM
tough going but finally up at Hay Tor. Feels more like Dartmoor up here, bleak!
