Robert Shrimsley is surely not so naive as to really think the third circle is rare?

What does he think goes on at all the private members clubs in Mayfair?

They’re bordellos hiding in plain sight

The BASIC Trident Commission composed of two ex defence secs (Rifkind and Browne) plus ex LD defence spokesperson (Campbell) - so people who have good knowledge - said without US support operability of UK deterrent measured in months not years

Only a few in Whitehall/Royal Navy will really know /2

I see Brexiters are still using glib, vibe based BS to justify their ever more discredited project

The ‘different legal tradition’ stuff is just vacuous nonsense that only shows the author has little idea of either the modern English legal system or the ECJ

His policy is no nukes not more independent nukes

Nothing strawman about the Green’s commitment to ending the UK’s deterrent (as opposed to a more independent one à la France)
January 18, 2026 at 9:03 AM
The Green position is to have no nuclear deterrent, not a more independent one.

Electrification is a huge opportunity for the world because it facilitates much more efficient use of energy
