Just a rural-living, multi-crafting, neurospicy geek.
All opinions are my own, and are plentiful / freely offered.
Jewish. CSA Survivor. She/Her.
Mama Bear to every letter of the alphabet except TERFs; they can fend for themselves.
Tidying up a bit at lunch and, uh, in addition to the 2 inkle/tablet looms, the beading loom, and the kumihimo loom…not pictured: rigid heddle, small beading loom, tall beading loom, tapestry loom, and multiple pin looms.

Did I mention weaving is not my primary craft? Knitting is 😳🧶

I regret to inform y’all that this is a Real Product.

I, myself, took this photo as I experienced a wave of an unnamed combined emotion consisting of genuine revulsion toward this *and* actual gratitude that my food allergies mean I can never ever ingest this.

I decided practicing seaming pin loom squares with my husband’s need for cedar chips to hang with his work coat 😏🧶

Not steam-blocked yet but the first larger block of the Hanukkah Blanket is done!

I was delayed by the need for a 2x6” pin loom because my OCD could not tolerate pieced sashing.

A work discussion today involved Cthulhu (yay for working w/my fellow nerds) and that reminded me, #KnitSky, of the time I knit/crocheted/sewed dice and gaming bags for family about 13 years ago or so. 🧶

I needed a tiny 'only the basics' kit to slip in my pocket for when I'm knitting somewhere other than my office-so I wove a 2x6" rectangle, fulled it, glued it in a tin, glued a magnet to the top so I can pop the needle there, added folding scissors & a tiny crochet hook...lunch break well spent! 🧶

Persephone wishes you all to know that Mom-Hooman has never ever played with her with the snaky long rainbow toy in her entire LIFE and begs for a single play-play with increasing desperation.

I am not saying it’s mandatory to add a splash of raspberry to one’s grey streaks when going to breakfast with a friend you’ve known for 35 years…but I am not *not* saying it, either 😌💗

Dolly Quinn's Imitation i-Cord Bind off is so perfect for top-down hats!

It's about as exact a match to the Chinese Waitress Cast-On as you can get.

I love knitting baby hats for charity; my son received one 22 years ago and it is one of the reasons why I wanted to learn to knit.

Bringing a child into this world is an act of courage and hope; it should be celebrated in every way we can.

This week’s knitting has been for our hospital region…they are accepting baby hats again to give to each newborn.

Red Heart Bitty Stripes, size 6 @kollagesquare.bsky.social DPNs, cast on 64 stitches or 8 stitches depending on top up/down, and commence playing.

Quick, easy, joyful.

Yes it’s acrylic…which is perfect for easy care before we get to wool-only weather!

Twisted German cast on, 2x2 rib, an inch of eye of partridge, then stockinette until rapid decreases.

Red Heart Bitty Stripes on size 6 needles.

Happy #Caturday courtesy of a throwback to 2020 😻

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly,
"what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually.
CATS ARE NICE.

Do I love the trend of big companies - in this case Red Heart - following indie dyer trends?

Not a whole lot, no.

Will I buy indie yarn *and* the RH yarn and use both in the appropriate situations?

Yeah, because I live in a world where mass-produced acrylic is sometimes the correct option. 🧶

The pattern isn't ready for release; I'm still in the 'play with different sizes and bind offs' mode.

But it's getting there! :D

2 9-patch blocks complete today and I refuse to think how many more to go 🤣

Destined to be a throw blanket for the most amazing pan person I know…

My husband went and found some copper strapping and his drill press and made me an initial prototype of a finishing needle 💗

If you are asking yourself “Is that really a size 0 @kollagesquare.bsky.social DPN that Rebecca had her husband flatten and add a hole to so she could have a square needle for pin loom weaving?”

The answer is “duh”.

Now for a #ShowMeYourKnits / #NoKings mashup!

I designed and knit this for a former colleague - FREE pattern here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

During Shabbat service I tried to knit on my socks but instead the idea for these Shabbos Vine candle covers hit my brain.

(Battery candles = disability safe!)

Pattern coming post-Shabbat :D

Back to knitting, and I know I shouldn't be so enamoured of my own dye work but I absolutely love the fabric this is producing! (I'm holding fingering weight double, knitting on size 3's.)
