I mean, the US is objectively the richest country in GDP by ALOT, but it’s also 100% true that per capita income, calculated as a straight average, does not capture our extreme degree of wealth inequality. The takeaway is that we COULD all be comfortable, but our policies ensure that we’re not.
The US is not the richest country on earth,
It's just the country where the richest people choose to live so they don't have to pay any taxes or contribute to the well beong of the society that makes them rich.
