I was not fishing for validation, just trying to see if anyone shared that worry. So I was genuinely surprised and touched by that reaction to sharing my fear.

My favourite thing was surprisingly the remote workers round table. Where I shared that I felt worried about security as my local wage is higher than those in the main EU studio, so I'm more expensive to keep. Cue the whole room telling me that I'm valuable and worthwhile to my company 😭

Being back at Melbourne Games Week after 11 years has been strange but nice. I think I've changed more than MIGW has, which I think is a good thing.
Still a good opportunity for coming together as an industry and feeling connected. And Australian, which I haven't felt for a while.

And this gives me lots of flexibility to take a few hours off during the day for my advocacy/political efforts.
1hr active transport meeting at lunch time on the other side of the CBD? No problem, my colleagues are all asleep anyway, I just make up the time in the evening when they are awake!

Uh, not that Nixxes force me to match my work day with their office hours. I work mostly until 7.30pm in winter, then 9.30pm in summer. And lots of flexibility to do a normal 9-5.30 when I like.

Yeah, I don't actually do full EU work time zone, but (usually) just late enough to cross over for the first few hours of their day. It's too hard otherwise 😞

Great article! There are so many proven solutions that Australia should be getting on board with *now* if we want to meet the (pathetic) climate targets announced by the government.
Can't hide the transport emissions behind carbon offsets, we need to actually just reduce our emissions.

Damn it, spent yesterday planting a bunch of veggie seedlings I bought from the local farmer's market. Woke up this morning and they are all just stalks, possums have eaten the lot 😭
I guess I'm going to have to possum proof any vegetables I'm trying to grow..

We always question the budgets for things that make our cities safer and more livable for people, but we never seem to ask "how much will this cost" for car culture.
