Aw yeah, petition to re-open the Glebe Island Bridge for walking and cycling! I think this is a huge opportunity to ease traffic and encourage active transport around the awful WestConnex/Rozelle interchange. It's just bumper to bumper every day at rush hour.

So the owners and landlords of all these Chinese Noodle House/Restaurant ... restaurants, seem to all be related, yet stabbing one another in the back?
This is like Game of Thrones level stuff, honestly I'd watch Game of Chinese Noodle if anyone made that. How did this all go down?

Today we had @bicyclensw.bsky.social join us on the Balmain Bike Bus, who politely listened to all our excited plans and wishlists for improved infrastructure in the area, including a shortcut through the power station, widened shared paths and of course the Glebe Island Bridge.

Super nice that this Wednesday is World Sustainable Transport Day, but it's also the 1st birthday of the Balmain Bike Bus 🥳
I've been told by a couple of attendees that this has inspired them to choose bike over car more often than they used to. Small wins, but still important I think.

Woah, super cool to see a bunch of our games front and centre when opening Steam today.
I know PlayStation is a large company, but the Nixxes port teams are not huge, so it's still really cool to see our titles appear so prominently like this.

ok wtf, my phone is one of the affected ones and apparently this was caused by the 3G shut down. Which happened in November last year. So.. I have been without the ability to call 000 for an entire year?!
Surely more than one person died in that time because of this..

Had all my three newbies from Ride 2 Work day last month, all back again on the bike bus today! Makes me happy 😊
There were so many weeks over the last year where it was just me cycling to work alone after waiting and no one showing up. I guess stubborn persistence finally paid off.

5 pedestrians (and an unborn child) were killed by motor vehicles across NSW just in the last week. Now is the time to lower speeds and claw our public safety back again.

Your choice is quite literally a bipartisan cabal of pedophilic drone-wielding genocidal oligarchs that suck each other off in depraved games of domination and blackmail, or, socialism and a habitable planet, and you're struggling with that choice?! Dafuq is wrong you?

On today's World Day of Remembrance for Road Victims it is worth noting that in the two years since Wales implemented a national default 20mph (32km/h) there have been 25% fewer casualties on such roads with over 1,000 fewer people killed or injured. youtu.be/efr3uVKpOwY

On Thursday I attended the reading of a bill to reduce speed limits in residential areas to 30km/h. Cue the online outrage about how this will ruin lives.
Not a single day later a pedestrian is killed in a shopping area where the speed limit is 60km/h. And commenters call it a "tragic accident"

Oh dang, I've been very offline the last few days and missed this news. Not only Square Enix, but now Crystal ☹️
Also not sure if I still know anyone at Crystal, but this makes me sad. Worked with some very talented people there too for some years.

Well done to @kobishettymp.bsky.social who just did a phenomenal reading for her bill to introduce a 30km/h limit on local, residential streets across NSW. Hopefully we can catch up with the international standards for safe streets, and allow people to choose sustainable transport options 💚

Opinion | You don’t accidentally allow 60 black-clad Nazis to parade in front of Parliament House holding an antisemitic banner. You allow it because you want to, @marquelawyers.com.au writes.
It's no accident that Nazis rallied in Sydney. Police waved them through — and now Minns wants to punish us all
The existing law in NSW is more than adequate to have avoided the images of Nazis outside state parliament over the weekend.

Ah damn, it's been a while, but just got a bit ranty at work about some hack that's now causing bugs in what I'm trying to write.
Went back to check who created the hack.
It was me ☹️

Not sure I even still know anyone at Square Enix after all the studio sales and previous layoffs, but my thoughts go out to all those affected. I worked together with some good people across Square Enix on Tomb Raider and The Avengers, makes me sad to see this happen 😔

In NSW, white supremacist neo-nazis are allowed to run free with their hate, racism and anti-semitism, while those standing up for justice for Palestine are relentlessly attacked, policed and vilified.

Shame on the Minns Labor government.
Police allowed Nazi rally outside NSW parliament
More than 60 people attended Saturday morning’s rally after notifying police more than a week ago. The police commissioner said he had no idea it was going to happen.

OK wtf, so we get pepper sprayed by police on Tuesday for peacefully protesting against *checks notes* a weapons convention with companies that are making money from genocide.
And then on Saturday literal Nazis are allowed to stand like this in front of parliament house unbothered by cops.
📢 More than 60 people attended the rally wearing dark uniforms, many baring their faces.

Kudos to these parents calling for more safety. They are only asking for staff to monitor this driveway during school zone hours.
(Obviously) I'd go several steps further and say all schools should be aiming for total car-free zones during school hours: nltimes.nl/2023/09/08/a...

Sorry, wtf, this mine owes the state $30 million and fucked over the staff, yet the owner is a billionaire? Feels like.. there's a way to solve this problem.
Far out though, $30 million. And people give me shit about paying for a fucking bridge. Instead we prop up mining companies with that money.

That was an eventful morning. Went out to join the protest against the weapons conference because 🤢😡, (or as Hannah said "this event is fucked").
Things got a bit spicy and police overreacted and pepper spayed the whole protest. I only got a small amount, but ugh, not a fun experience.
