I don't know why the reporter felt the need to mention undiagnosed neurodivergence. ADHD and autism do not make people into torturing bastards. If that was attempted mitigation then the lawyers need to have a word with themselves.

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

I'd prob find International Women's Day less irritating if it wasn't a day in which women were expected to *do more things*. International Women's Day should be a day on which men do things like actively commit to reducing their entrenched intellectual biases and go and buy 10 books written by women

I am collecting examples of the most thoughtful writing about generative AI published in 2024. What’s yours? They can be insightful for commentary, smart critique, or just because it shifted the conversation. I’ll post some of mine below as I go through them. #criticalAI

I'd love to hear all you ladies thoughts on all the things! I'm consciously choosing to follow many, many more women here, but the timeline is not ratioing

This is a brilliant story, and reiterates that being a landlord should be incompatible with legislating on housing, or purporting to want a more equal society

Hello lots of new people following me 👋 I might be posting about content design and accessibility and inclusion from here, or I might just post about Paul Mescal and Eastenders. We will see.

This gif comes up first with my name. I don't know who she is but it's Paul Mescal when meeting Prince Charles. King, whatever

The single thing you could do to quickly improve public services?

Redesign all the words.

It’s funny how public health discourse is always about prevention, and encouraging good behaviours, rather than diet pills.

But when it comes to public health technology, that same thinking goes out the window and AI will negate the need for interoperable standards and basic, usable stuff.

Stayed up late to improve the #UCD freelancers and contractors directory for y’all!

14th professional being added tomorrow.

Please share widely. I’d especially like to represent more user researchers and service designers.

Great post on content maintenance - highlights:
- improve or delete? Search volume and traffic thresholds
- fact checking and risk: subject expert content checks every 12 months, if it hits 18 months without a check it's removed

When asked “is this accessible,” I always have to create a line between if something is accessibility compliant versus higher degrees of accessible/inclusive.

Your product can be accessibility compliant and still suck to use.

Let’s prepare to celebrate the true meaning of Valentine’s Day.
