The knobber who bought this church when it was deconsecrated made a number of "interesting architectural decisions" one of which was building a shed on top of a gravestone. Get fucked shed (and welcome back Howorths and Stephensons)

*cue joke about how ICE have a chance to do the funniest thing ever, except it isn't really funny, but also, fuck this fuckin guy*
Prominent figures within “gender-critical” feminism are absolutely enamoured with noted rapist Donald Trump.

I guess I just like to ask everyone who was patting themselves on the back for their moral victory that *we* achieved a peaceful transfer of power, does it feel like a fucking peaceful transfer of power now? Is this transfer *peaceful?* We just gave people who said they want to kill us all the guns.

Based on my own family's history, I want to know if Matilda McDuck's family disowned her for marrying a German, and whether Ludwig's family ever really accepted her

I feel like we're at the point technologically where a microwave shouldn't have to cost £55 anymore

In classic adhd fashion, I got a new phone and held off logging into apps again until I *needed* them, because why would I...anyway. Hi. Here's Fleetwood beach at low tide, 7:45am last Saturday morning. (it was cold)

Finally, a teeny tiny Judith holding a teeny tiny head of Holofernes, from a 1709 Bible that was the official translation for use in CofE services (and included the Apocrypha). Every book opened with a tiny illustration linked to the story and this was the best one I checked out.

"No I've never seen a lion, sure I'll draw one, how hard could it be?"

When your 19th century bookbinder is a thieving bastard

(It's true, the book only has 360 of 731 pages - it's "Defoe's History of the Union" published in 1786)

At Wortley Hall near Sheffield and I saw these three little gravestones. It's the pet cemetery. But not the haunted by a Wendigo type thankfully (so far)

Got to introduce 15 Brits to the joys of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark the other night. Definitely recommend alternating between things designed to scare 10 year olds and vintage early Victorian "fuck up my corpse and I'll fuck you up twice as hard" stories for max impact

Had a moment today in Thornton, when I found my 8th great grandfather's name carved on the old font. I was born 4,000 miles away from here and I live 15 miles away from here, and moved without knowing this was "where I came from". Life is weird.

First walk post-covid wasn't as horrendous as I feared. Went uphill with little to no drama! Saw some beautiful trees, a nest inside a rotting trunk, and an supremely grumpy rock man down in the clough (don't ask me what he said when I took the photo, it's unprintable)

Thomas and Mary Ann Ogden, mid-1860s, and her later. They married in 1868 ages 20 and 22. The way he's slouching but with one arm around her and she's in her absolute best, all made up for the camera - you could plonk these two on a park bench today, in today's clothes, and get the exact same photo

Well, my new photos of the thing around me but chattier than insta social media plan has immediately failed thanks to sneaky covid. Felt low key bad for a week, 5 neg tests, didn't bother on day 6, day 7 = positive. So now I'm eating fig rolls in bed and watching coin push videos and dissolving
