I'm having a gender euphoria day, so to celebrate here's my first ever lewd on main.
I'll always remember listening to Bisexuality's "Newsweek" EP for the first time: "Cappuccino vs Cowboys," and "Inside the White House" were such a fresh new sound, I was stunned. And then... then it hits me with "Not Gay. Not Straight. A New Sexual Identity Emerges." It was downright mind-blowing.
If you're young or not super online (UNLIKELY)
you may not know this was a real fuckin' Newsweek cover

Tim Allan, who just quit as Starmer's director of comms, was on the board of the trans-eliminationist hate group "Sex Matters", whose director of advocacy Helen Joyce urged transphobes to get through to "decision makers" so that the "numbers" of trans people could be "reduced." That's what they did.
One of the wickedest things Wes Streeting has ever done is push politically convenient falsehoods about suicide rates amongst young trans people. We have new data from the National Child Mortality Database that exposes the truth he tried to cover up.
New data shows surge in trans kids’ suicides following healthcare rollbacks | Good Law Project
A freedom of information request by Good Law Project has found that deaths by suicide of trans young people under 18 surged following the withdrawal of gender-affirming healthcare

Major was less that way, but he also didn't exactly have enough control over his own party to stop them being a lot worse than he was personally okay with

But yeah, it's a hell of a thing about post-Thatcherite politics

The US Dem Party sold itself the idea they could indulge their worst conservative impulses and sell the party out to donors without losing their base because what you gonna do, vote somebody else?

Meanwhile Labour accepted the same logic IN A SYSTEM FULL OF PARTIES THEIR BASE COULD EASILY SWITCH TO
It's the obsession with winning over the middle class. But what Labour don't realise is that their base might end up abandoning them, that they can't take those votes for granted anymore.

We're already seeing this in Wales, with Labour voters flocking to Plaid and the Greens.

at the same time as making it harder for middle class ppl to remain in that bracket and even harder for anyone working class to get into it

if they want a middle class base of comfortable incurious 'Im alright jack pull up the ladder' types they could try making it materially possible to be alright

My parent's Tory constiuency, which has been Tory since it was created, also became Lib Dem at the last election.

I would be surprised if either Labour or the Tories survive 20 years in their current form. It feels like we're seeing a realignment towards Reform/Green and they haven't caught up yet.

And if Labour can collapse in Wales (and they're going to), the Labour heartland of Labour heartlands, where Labour haven't lost an election in over a century, then it can happen anywhere in the UK.

I can already see McSweeney's departure being retconned as the moment everything "went wrong" for Labour. The sensibles will just ignore how the shit hit the fan well before this.
I think they just wouldn't bother. They'd blame the Left, or the Tories or somebody. Scroungers? Immigrants? They can never fail, only be failed

3D has been the “go to” saviour of cinema at the times in history when it has been most threatened (50s with rise of TV, 80s with home video, 00s/10s with online piracy). Every time it’s been touted as the only way cinema can survive. Every time it’s gone away very quietly and at great expense.

Your children are people with their own unique curiosities and drives. Instead of trying to shut all that shit down try giving them the tools to decide for themselves and do things as safely as possible. But that would mean trusting them and why would you do that, eh?

Your fucking job is to prepare them for a world full of all sorts of awful awful shit. Getting the government to help you pretend none of that exists and then letting your kids loose with nothing to prepare them at 18 is fucked up and you shouldn't do it.

As a fucking parent TALK TO YOUR FUCKING KIDS THEN. Worried they'll see porn? Talk to them about porn. Worried they'll see gore? Talk to them about gore. Worried they'll get groomed? Talk to them about red flags and cultivate trust with them so they won't feel they have to hide things from you.
"As a parent, I am deeply concerned about what my child is accessing online. Albeit not enough to check or to install some very basic software that would prevent them from accessing dodgy material online. That's why the Online Safety Act is so important."
