People were always asking "How did Savile get away with it for so long?" and I think part of the answer is found in how Andrew is treated. People with institutional power do not care about CSA even to the *very* basic degree of keeping an infamous pedophile away from children.
Misread this at first and thought it would be an old article about the films. But no Andrew Whatsit-Windsor was allowed on to the HBO show's set.

I get the sense that safeguarding isn't a priority here. It's not "a bit strange" that a pedophile turns up uninvited around kids, it's very alarming!

After thinking it over during this weekend mostly offline, I've decided that YES, I WILL be making a sequel to my hit video, "So I'm in the Epstein Files." I'm looking through docs now but lmk if you've found anything particularly funny/obscure regarding yours truly youtu.be/VNLdyWPAz18

Okay, you guys wanted some fun tea on Richard Dawkins? Here you go: one reason he may have gotten super duper angry about me talking about misogyny in atheism

Epstein Files Reveal How Pathetic Richard Dawkins & Other Men Are
Transcript: Well, it happened again. I’m mentioned in the Epstein files. Again. You probably saw my first video on this topic and you came away thinking that I’ve spent the past decade being as awe…

The biggest problem with "New Atheism" is they thought the problem with organised religion was simply false belief. They did criticise e.g. the Catholic Church for abuse, but they didn't give much consideration to hierarchy and power. So the movement ended up replicating some of those same patterns.
That Shermer is a serial sexual predator is something that has been known for many years now, by the way, but the "skeptic" community (incorporating "New Atheism") mostly chose to just ignore it. Those who did not ended up as personae non gratae.

These are the same guys, remember, who are constantly complaing about how it's actually marginalised people who are too "fragile." They don't know they're born, they really don't. Grown fucking men with the emotional maturity of toddlers when faced with criticism and a lack of reverence from others.
That's what a life of upper-class, white and cishet privilege does to a guy, I s'pose? You end up soft. These men know how to act "tough" in lectures etc., they can be very (excessively) verbose when "owning" the SJWs or whoever, but they crack into a million pieces with the tiniest bit of pressure.

By the way, if I should ever fall victim to a serial killer or disppear mysteriously you do NOT have my permission to turn what happens to me into an "entertaining" Netflix documentary.

I mean, I'm probably not going to run into a serial killer, but I still want to make that clear lol.
The bright colours and the look on the lady's face like she's about to read out a "fun" Buzzfeed listicle. While behind her are the faces of missing people whose families are still looking for them. Their disappearances made into entertainment.

Just epitomises everything wrong with "True Crime."

It was bizarre to hear the gametes bubble up from the depths of TERF Island’s brain worms and wind up in a U.S. EO. That language has been around for years but I hadn’t heard it prominently on the U.S. right until recently
I see people say "it's coming from the Christian right" but that's only half the story. It is also coming from secular, liberal and leftist "gender criticals", especially in the UK - and their success in the UK has spurred on anti-trans movements elsewhere, including the USA.
She might be the one who brought it to the White House but the teleological gamete definition of sex comes right out of “gender-critical” feminism, especially from UK “GCs.”

Ikr? Mail Man is not a name which is befitting someone who is organised around the production of large immobile gametes. Reeks of gender.
wait a goddamn minute

the woman who is driving this administration's transphobic policy game is named mail man

Traced it back to George Williamson's "Sex And Evolution" (1975), via Ruth Hubbard's essay "Have Only Men Evolved?"

Williamson links this to different "reproductive strategies", in other words sociobiological justification for a patriarchal model of gender roles. Plus ça change...

Mandelson resigning is very 2000s. Between that and the government's complicity in war crimes, Starmer is bringing us the full New Labour experience.

This has been an incredible thread tbh, succeeded far beyond my wildest expectations.

The first reply to call out the fact that I am English and that is the reason why I won't be voting Democrat came in literally 1 minute after the initial post.

AND YET.
Anyway in case there was any doubt, I will never vote Democrat.
