I pretty much do this every time I take a beach trip, it’s 3-6, depending on the books. I read a lot of fiction and scattered history/pop science. If some of the books are short and zippy, it will be closer to 6, but I’ll often get a 500-800 pager, or dense, complex fiction, and then it’s 3.

I’m having some work done at my house and, same. I’ve accepted that it’s not happening and that’s ok. The Grinch taught me Christmas still comes anyway 😂

8. I am so appalled that the Trump/Ferguson FTC dropped this case. Local independent grocery stores are being driven out of business — and their customers forced to pay higher prices — by two powerful companies who've been told, in effect, that they can violate the law with impunity.

I’m not an expert, but I think very rational! Without strong guardrails, the potential for all types of information manipulation is very high, and I think we’re only beginning to see the applications and ramifications of that manipulation potential.

I see…I truly don’t know where, but post an update if you figure it out! One time I saw an NPR mug from Iowa with a cool bird on it, and I still think about that sometimes, how it could be.

It’s really unfair how some affiliates will design the hell out of a mug, but for some reason it’s never my affiliate.

Yes, the big artists definitely still do, and I’m glad to see them! Some indies are still hit or miss, but I understand the industry model doesn’t make it particularly easy for them.

I went back to CDs this year too, mostly for the reasons you name. My mom and I are both pack rats, so between us I had most of both mine and my brother’s old collections when I bought a new player. I wish newer artists still made them, I would buy!

I just can’t let go of the fact that if they were going to cave, they could have done that 2-3 weeks ago, sparing millions of people a lot of pain and suffering.
