Life’s too short for boring vinyl.
I finally have the right number of records to not have any blank spots at the bottom!

Dave Matthews Band “Where Are You Going” singles collection.

DMB is definitely a greatest hits band for me and this scratches the itch, though I still want the DM/Tim Reynolds acoustic live album.

I need more chill acoustic stuff is what I’m trying to say.

Green Day
Live at the Electric Factory

I saw Green Day in this era. That’s mostly what made me buy the Nimrod anniversary box. It was a life-changing show and I’ll treasure those memories forever.
January 26, 2026 at 1:06 PM
Artist: Green Day
Album: Nimrod (XXV)
Bought: Collector’s Choice
Notes: Numbered//silver//Side D etched

Nimrod XXV is a box set that includes a “backstage pass,” an embroidered patch, a slipmat, a 20-page book, a poster, a demo disc, and a live album.

Worth the $54 for sure.
January 14, 2026 at 8:26 AM
Artist: Alkaline Trio
Album: Bleeding Out (7”)
Bought: King’s Road/band site
Notes: Bone // limited to 2,000 // Demo on B-side

Y’all should write in to King’s Road and ask for represses of the #alkalinetrio Past Lives #vinyl so we do that to bend to exorbitant flipper prices on the used market.
January 11, 2026 at 7:38 AM
Artist: Alkaline Trio
Album: Oblivion (7”)
Bought: King’s Road/Alkaline Trio’s site
Notes: evergreen // limited to 2,000

Anyone else get a STRONG Blink-182 vibe here?

The album I listened to most* from this year is almost certainly Hellbilly Deluxe, but it’s been a great year of finding new (to me) bands like Raging Nathans, The Slow Death, Houseghost, and The Kilograms (RIP).

4/5 of those are Rad Girlfriend bands, too! It’s a label you should pay attention to!
December 29, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Artist: Flight of the Conchords
Album: S/T (Season One)
Bought: Xmas gift from my wife
Notes: 2008 pressing

What a great show but I can’t for the life of me figure out why “Mermaid” is not on this album.
December 25, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Artist: Various
Album: The Bob’s Burgers Music Album
Bought: Xmas gift from my wife
Notes: Bonus (white) 7” with the best songs
December 25, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Artist: @thekilograms.bsky.social
Album: Strike A Match
Bought: Bandcamp
Notes: 25/100//Clear w/ red & yellow splatter//YES, it’s got a functional strike strip

RIP, Kilograms. Thank you for the great music. You will be missed.
December 24, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Artist: Linkin Park
Album: Hybrid Theory
Bought: Collector’s Choice
Notes: 1276/3000/Because Sound Matters one-step pressing

I know Collector’s Choice isn’t a real record shop BUT I’m not willing to spend one HUNDRED dollars on one record - even if it sounds great. Are you serious? Get fucked, bro.
December 21, 2025 at 1:20 PM
Artist “The Ataris”
Album: Hang Your Head in Hope
Bought: Discogs

Kris has always been best behind an acoustic and this album’s good, but the older I get, the more this “nice guy” punk makes me cringe a little.

Andrew WK reins supreme, but Houseghost claims the #2 spot! That’s a great pairing.
Honestly, most of the list was Rad Girlfriend artists in case anyone was wondering about the quality of their roster…

If you haven’t checked out Houseghost, do yourself a favor and do so.
December 3, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Artist: Dead Kennedys
Album: Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death
Bought: @skeletunesrecords.com
Notes: UK import // Orange // gatefold jacket with lyrics

A required buy for any punk.
November 30, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Artist: Danger Days
Album: S/T EP
Bought: @skeletunesrecords.com
Notes: 35/200 // Clear w/ etching on the B-side (that you can barely friggin’ see in this picture!)

Always like it when a band DOESN’T include older songs on subsequent releases.

Congrats to Skeletunes on their first release!
November 20, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Artist: Joe Pass
Album: For Django
Bought: Overland Records, Oberammergau, Germany
Notes: ZERO clue when this was made.

Seriously. The internet has no idea and the only thing I know for certain is that it isn’t a first-pressing because it says so on the back. Beyond that? Who knows?

The Living End
“I Only Trust Rock N Roll”
Bought: @skeletunesrecords.com
Notes: pink

TLE is a foundational band for me and I really wish they hadn’t built me up by saying this was the older brother of their debut. I might grow to like it, but it’s a LOT more mellow than their S/T.

Hellraiser 2022
Ben Lovett
Hell Priest variant (#1333 )//black and gold galaxy, pink and cream galaxy

I love it.

“Hellbilly Deluxe”

Glow in the dark RSD Essential.

Truly essential. What a banger of an album and a master class in song/album dynamics AND a great example of taking full advantage of a medium for the buyer.

And the drums/guitars are great.

If you haven’t checked this out yet, give it a shot.

Any recommendations for acoustic guitar singer/songwriter stuff that’s recorded well? Jack Johnson has great production value but not great songs. At least not on the albums I’ve listened to.

Artist: Van Halen
Album: Balance
Bought: Rough Trade
Notes: Translucent orange // side D etched with the Vitruvian Man

I read that this whole album was in the key of D (saddest key) and that it was a giant pain in the ass because of EVH.

Whodathunk.

Artist: Norah Jones
Album: I Dream of Christmas (Deluxe)
Bought: Discogs
Notes: opaque red

2025’s Christmas album! I get one new Christmas album each year. I used to do this with CDs and wound up building quite a nice collection over the last 20 years (or so) and now it’s time for vinyl!
