I really enjoyed this game. It's not perfect (the camera...wtf) but I highly recommend if you like soulslikes. It is definitely the fastest combat (no stamina bars) of the genre and I actually loved that. One more playthrough for 100% but that will have to wait a bit.

Seriously??? I definitely heard Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" as I landed.

The best defense is bunny ears? Also, FFVI has taught me not to attack that guy when he's in his shell.

Poison? Check
Death from gravity? Check
Winding pathways that lead to nowhere and everywhere? Check
The only thing we need now is sudden and devastating FPS drops.

Despite the loss of currency on death, I like that I don't HAVE to return to the place of my demise. I've cleared 3 areas, and the boss fights have been enjoyable. Deaths to the environment are competing with deaths to enemies, so that tracks. The camera still sucks.

Platinum Completed!! If you watch to the end of the video, I almost died after it happened. That would have been fitting. Perhaps I'll finish the DLC trophies when the next DLC because I'm not putting 80 more hours in for one trophy.

Matter Combatant Trophy completed. A friend had to help me because no one seems to be in the area and/or Marked for Death. All that remains is Hardcore. I may or may not go for the DLC trophies now or just wait for the 2nd DLC as they don't impact the Platinum.

After 140 hours, this stupid thing dropped. By far the worst trophy in the set.

This trophy was to craft the highest level potion but for some reason, they removed that aspect of the game and changed it to use 1000 potions. When I stopped playing I was at the 2nd highest level. To top it off, the in-game counter was broken. It's done now.

I managed to hit Paragon 200 during lunch.
I made a new build that makes numbers go wheeee and whirrrr all over the screen so that's fun.

I had to get one more game in for the year. This was a fun homage to the Goonies movies (and a pretty good sequel to the original Famicom game. It is an exploration-based metroidvania with optional combat that gets better every playthrough.

I picked this DLC up at launch last year but never played. With the announcement of the new DLC, I decided to jump back in. It took an hour or so to get acclimated to all the changes, but I enjoyed this extra content and am enjoying the new changes.

I decided to go back after my review and finish off the achievements. The last 2 characters were a bit of a grind (no spoilers, but if you know the order, you know it was just tedious to do). I'll put this aside for now, but I am super excited for the update launching next month.

For me, this game has set the bar for all future FPS roguelites. Normally, when I roll credits, I experience feelings of delight at finishing and sadness that the journey has ended. Here, you receive a pop-up announcement stating that a new level will be added next year.
