New intro post time!

I’m Didi. I’m a mid-thirties Canadian, I use she/her pronouns, definitely on the aroace spectrum, anti-capitalist, anti-genAI, and like to think of myself as a writer. I have a dog named Kida who’s my whole world (yes, named after the Atlantis character). Also a casual gamer.

the fact that this gets boiled down to “ugh another female character ruined by straight romance” just a) furthers biphobia, and b) denigrates talanah’s own agency and growth.

she’s now in a place where love is a possibility and heartbreak isn’t world-ending. she tells aloy she wasn’t sure love was in the cards for her with “that’s what i used to say.” this puts her in a convenient place to move forward with someone who is also ready to take that leap. again, parallel.

of course that resets his entire grieving process and puts whatever he and talanah may have had on the back burner. tbh i think by both of them stepping back, they handled it like mature adults and with respect for each other.

ultimately, amadis was a plot device to give talanah development.

mhm. talanah has lost loved ones, but she has answers and closure and their names marked for history. amadis had questions and a gaping hole and she took a leaf from aloy’s book and helped him find what he needed. he was also looking for a grave/to lay her to rest. no one expected her to be alive.

maybe i just have a vastly different read on talanah’s story in hfw than this person but i never saw her as throwing everything away for a man. i won’t go into it but i don’t think horizon is ever pushing only 1 love forever.

tempted to add some of my own headcanons to the list. like i’m pretty sure yarra has a mandibuzz. drakka has a kanto sandslash (but i just know he has a dreepy in his team). ikrie 100% has a glaceon (my personal fave). etc.

i’ve also been desperately searching for a shiny aron during the steel week. i have a shiny ursaring, so if i had a shiny aggron, that means aloy, varl, and erend would have shinies.

problem is, you get salandits by hatching 12km eggs, which you get from beating team rocket bosses. all the salandits i’ve hatched have been male, and lately all my 12km eggs have been sandiles. rocket bosses are also few and far between (for me).

i’m having a devil of a time obtaining a female salandit so i can get a salazzle in pokemon go. i’m so close to completing the horizon au team from @/kittleskittle1.bsky.social ‘s series. i think i just need vanasha’s salazzle and then a full moon to get varl’s ursaluna and i’m complete.

Hello, call me Didi.

Here you’ll find my completed works of fanfic for the Horizon video game series. While I have a lot, the highlights are below:

1. equilibrium. explicit, aloy/nil/talanah, longfic. co-created with kittleskittle and mythicait. my baby, my magnum opus, my two-year struggle. post-burning shores ot3. mind the tags and warnings.
2. the number of the beast. explicit, aloy/nil, longfic. a rewrite of the first fics i wrote for fandom after a long hiatus. written pre-burning shores, so a little dated, but still dear to me.
3. series: all of you tonight. explicit, aloy/nil, a trio of one-shots initially inspired by the violin pitbull cover, of all things. post-burning shores.
4. series: another kiss is all it takes: explicit, aloy/nil, then aloy/nil/drakka. four one-shots that eventually becomes a chaptered work set two years later. written pre-burning shores.

While I’m currently no longer writing fanfiction, I am working on an original high fantasy x romance novel that I hope to be able to share with the world one day, and turn into the planned trilogy.

Art is a conversation. Why would I stare at a dictionary run through the washing machine when I could read a poem lovingly constructed by someone’s hands?
