Irreverent anesthesiologist, law student because why the Hell not, sock knitter, funk band groupie. Posts are not medical or legal advice. Whatever you’re cooking, it needs more garlic.
Older than dirt. I don't remember if I had AOL or some other service, but my first cars all had manual transmissions so I'll take that as an extra credit point to get a perfect 20.

And I buy postcards. Sometimes I send them.

My experience is that the best parades are in the smallest towns.

Big cities it's a lot of advertising disguised as floats.

Small towns it's people who do stuff they think is cool and they want to let you know they're doing it. And there's a good chance you know a bunch of them.

Nothing is changed, except
there was a moment when

the wolf, the mongering wolf
who stands outside the self

lay lightly down, and slept.

So when at times the mob is swayed
To carry praise or blames too far,
We may choose something like a star
To stay our minds on and be staid.

Got it! It took 2 apps. Sound Hound failed on 3 tries. I redownloaded Shazam and got it on the first try.

There is nothing in that video that doesn’t excite me.

And washed so many times you can see what kind of underwear your co-workers are wearing.

This is part of my dismay at today's education. A good education is viewed more as a prize to the 'worthy', not a benefit to the public.

What happened to the idea that it was good for everyone if we all knew how to read and write, do basic math, and have a general idea how government worked?

My cat likes to walk across the keyboard and I'm afraid one day he'll submit the assignment I'm in the middle of.

It's a relief that for quizzes, when you hit "submit" the software asks if you're sure, because once submitted there's no going back.

One professor specifically stated children and pets were welcome to office hours. Another prof had us read an article about online meeting norms* which said don't allow your pets, but every time a pet appeared she'd ask about them and say how cute they were

(*because I can't spell etiquite.)

Friend of mine is a retired lawyer. She started at community college, finished her degree at Harvard, went to law school.

I dropped out of college, then went to community colleges for 2 Associates. Ended up going to medical school.

Would a monetary donation to my school's food pantry count? I know there's need everywhere, but those students are my classmates so it feels personal.

Is this an exception to vegetarianism?

Bought myself a waffle iron. Made my first batch of waffles, all of them came out just fine.

This morning I heated a couple of leftover waffles in the toaster, then ate them topped with syrup and peanut butter.

Not a big deal. I don't get seasick, and it will make studying a little more amusing.
