Getting another ground ball pitcher and then doing this would be interesting, especially since they’d prefer to keep Mayer at 3B. I think a trade is most likely still. There is going to be a flurry of transactions soon, we’ll see if the Sox are involved. Unreal this is still unresolved.

I'd prefer lopez because of his decent pull side pop, but they both project as 2.5-3 war guys in the near term, just get there a bit different. Trade Values has XE as a much more valuable player currently, but I don't see that when I look at them. neither has been rumored as availble.

I’d need to do a deeper dive to find out wtf is wrong with him. Talent is insane but a quick look and so much disappointment.

i dunno, still another round of league-wide roster moves to take place, we'll see if anything shakes out for the sox. raf at 2b would go against everything they've said, and it would lead to instant criticism every time duran doesn't get to something and lots of roster construction second guessing.

I believe @jcmccaffrey.bsky.social has mentioned in a few recent articles that she has a team source still suggesting the idea of trading an outfielder, even while Breslow is publicly committed to keeping all four. That is in line with what I’ve heard.

It would have to be huge, and I doubt they are in a rush with him. If he puts up a monster first half like he did last year, at the deadline he would be the #1 guy... and if he puts together a full good year, that's an even bigger haul next winter.

if fien and montgomery equal out, I think teel is a better second piece, not sure about the other prospects. similar but i think the sox paid more.
