What a wonderful, talented man he is. I wish for the best of luck as TV6 begins its year-long lead-up to its 75th anniversary next year.

They sing "Hello Quad Cities", I hum on it gleefully. Alas, TV6 Cares, indeed. They truly care for you.

I give my shoutouts and kudos not just to the management and creative services team at the station for betting on what's in my opinion a very wise branding decision, but also to the man who may have been the one pushing for all this: First Alert meteorologist Cyle Dickens.

At noon local time on October 31st, in time for the start of the station's 75th year of broadcasting, that old, familiar tune came back in style. Yes, it's old. But it ages very well for its time. It also really helps that TV6 has even more variety in the cuts that it uses across its newscasts.

In 2012, the station opted for a more contemporary theme, and while that sounded good at the start, I will say that it sounded a bit dated after about a decade.

In the case of a place like the Quad Cities, it's even more special. KWQC-TV made one incredible spin and presented themselves as a station that cares for the communities they serve, and they truly do.

Frank Gari created #Hello as a love letter to local communities, and while Milwaukee got it first, it really worked not just across America but across the globe too. (see: 2&7/Global Calgary, Seven Network among others)
