Using LLMs is like being a senior dev who is mentoring a junior dev. You need the experience to know what you need to explain and you need the language skills to explain things well.
When people say they don't find much use from LLMs I immediately suspect they are bad at mentoring too.

“AI will replace junior devs” is such a bad take. Companies hire Jr engineers because:
1. Their cheap. You don’t need Sr dev to solve every problem. At some point, a manager will ask “why hire one Sr, when we can get two Jr?”

I have been using GenAI to help make quick changes and searches using the AWS CLI. And for some reason, ChatGPT and Q both think ‘aws logs describe-queries’ has a ‘—start-time’ and ‘—end-time’ argument.

I’m spending 20 minutes this morning writing a job in a Glue notebook to transform their bad data.
Am I the problem? It’s faster the fix the data than it is to explain the problem to them, but maybe it costs me more in the long run.

Playing #skyrim on PS5, without mods. I forgot how buggy the game was. I got locked out of the College of Winterhold quest line. I think I was feeling nostalgic. But the politics of Skyrim are oddly prescient. I wouldn’t be the first one to compare the Stormcloaks to MAGA.

Apple Intelligence screwed up summarizing my Netflix notifications pretty badly. The Shows are coming on Nov 9 and 10. And “Rewatch Available” is maybe the worst way to summarize what that one was saying. I am afraid of what the news summaries look like. #appleintelligence
