I think the used EV market might not have a floor.

Still, continuing to consume a Tesla is probably greener than buying a “new” IC, right?

Using LLMs is like being a senior dev who is mentoring a junior dev. You need the experience to know what you need to explain and you need the language skills to explain things well.

When people say they don't find much use from LLMs I immediately suspect they are bad at mentoring too.

Of course, that’s all just fantasy. Almost everyone parroting this line stands to materially benefit from investment in AI. They just want to hype up their own company.

Even if “AI” replaces whole engineering teams, the company still needs engineers. Someone has to plug in the servers, monitor for errors, and set up the damn AI in the first place.

Evaluating the AIs output could become our only job, but even then some people will be newer, more junior!

3. Senior devs want Jr devs. Mentorship is a big part of the job for Sr devs, most interviews asking about past mentorship opportunities.

And anecdotally, good devs want to mentor! We want to pass on our experience and knowledge, help others, and tell war stories.

2. Junior Devs only stay Junior Devs for a year or two, often growing into very impactful mid level developers.

IMO, some of the best members of engineering orgs started at Jr level. They’re deeply immersed in the culture and technology of the company, making huge contributions every day.

It looks good! It seems like there are a couple of holes in the maps, especially around access to Eat Lake station. I live in an On-Demand zone, so I’m interested in seeing how that works

How has working and writing changed for you?

Uber exploits its drivers.
AirBnB restricts available housing.
Bitcoin’s growth has almost exclusively benefited the already wealthy. Similarly with DeFi.

That is an economy built on the back of exploitation, not equity.
