I cannot see them f**king with their golden goose.

Comic books are a IP goldmine
December 5, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I'm not.

Half the reason why Netflix got some of their material is due to comic books churning out ideas and content.

I suspect it will be protected even at a loss for Netflix.

If anything DC/Vertigo is in better hands in Netflix than with WBD.

Why the red flags?

It's still not far removed from reality, IMO. - They are literally going to have access to both sets of streaming numbers, and things might get interesting if AEW is doing comparable numbers on Max that WWE is doing on Netflix. Lol

I agree.

I get how complex Vince's crap may be for Cena. Its gross to think that a man that helped you so much did/does those things.

I also have littel faith in Cena's ability to have the insight or the ability to communicate it effectively in a way that does not alienate his fans.

Vince is the reason why he is rich, a Hollywood star and has the platform that he has.

Vince also sexually trafficed a girl and did horrific things to her. Thats fact!

I don't think Cena can effectively articulate how messed up his feelings are in regards to Vince and the charges.

Completely random but this post has me howling last night

The AWS bill would be really substantial, but it might be a way to avoid antitrust shit from a nutty DOJ. Also, this shit isn't going to move fast, but they could always give that dying motherfucker a gold bar. Which would change how fast it goes.

Agreed.

- Netflix may prefer a partnership w/AEW over WWE
-AEW has a rabid built in fanbase
- AEW guards, respects and enriches it's relationship with their audience.
- There will be suitors for AEW once this contract is finished

It’s like “oh no, who wouldn’t want this incredibly successful company with a paying built-in fanbase with high merch sales and crossover appeal??? Surely NO ONE wants to have that as part of their merger! 😱” Some people just don’t live in the real world #AEW

Having a self sustaining network like WatchAEW would be a stop gap for a much bigger deal streaming/network deal and put AEW in a position of strength.

If AEW does not like what Acme Network/Streaming service offers they can hold out till they comeback with something AEW likes.

The metrics and formulas have changed so much in the past 5 years there Neilson ratings are irrelevant.

AEW and RoH are a growing company with a rabid and stable fanbase that spends money. They watch the programs and engage on all sorts of mediums and platforms.

Someone will pay money for them
December 5, 2025 at 4:54 PM
It could happen.

One of the benefits of the streaming numbers not being widely known is that no one has a clue what they look like outside of WBD and AEW.

It's a position of strength for AEW.

I completely agree.

The fact that the ratings and metrics are not widely known works in AEW favor of AEW.

WWE could be broadsided in a few months or years by being outright replaced
December 5, 2025 at 3:11 PM
And it depends if that contract is under MAX or Discovery.

Basic facts are WWE are taking on a lot of gunfire and if there is something in AEW's metrics that makes it a reasonable replacement for WWE they will be dumped for a company that is much cheaper, growing and easier to work with.
December 5, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Very low probability it happens but in theory it could happen.
December 5, 2025 at 3:04 PM
I feel/think this merger increases the value and positioning of AEW. If Netflix has AEW under its umbrella then they will have access to the metrics of HBOMax. If not AEW becomes a more important peice for Discovery (or whatever they call themselves)

-AEW will be fine
-This is early days

This does not include the recent reporting of ESPN being unhappy with their agreement, the steady decline in ratings on Netflix and frustration and anger from its own fanbase.

Everyone thinks AEW is cooked or frozen out because of these media contracts TKO/WWE has with multiple entities but
