It’s like Donald Trump has declared war on smart people and you don’t even have to be that smart to be qualified as smart people

Modern wars make big losses inevitable for any army.

As noted by Yigal Levin, NATO no longer has a designated supply of 'cheap frontline troops', as it was back in the late 40s.

russia has already sent more than a million of their troops to hospitals and morgues. They have the troops.

Do we?

Sounds rather provocative. Can't see it happening within this administration, but who knows. Mass killings of opposition are good for wakefulness ig

One-third is the cursèd number in political psychology: in many Western countries over the past century, ~1/3 of the population prefer authoritarianism to democracy.
That's about the proportion of Germans who voted to make Hitler Chancellor & even now in Europe, 1/3 of whites want authoritarianism.

"We believe we have time to negotiate with tractors before we're forced to negotiate with tanks".
After tough negotiations, 24 EU countries decide to borrow 90bn to keep Ukraine in the fight.

Meanwhile, same period and without many noticing, European farmers hold the EU to ransom and get 100 bn extra on top of already lavish funds.

Priorities??

Pedantry alert. I much dislike phrases such as ‘everyone will react differently’ when what is really meant is that we can’t assume that everyone will react the same way. After all there probably are not all that many different ways of reacting.
