A close but narrowly failed (for now) in this occasion vote on the motion on 17 Dec in the Dáil to open the way for more abortion covered a number of liberalising measures inc gestation limit from 12 ⬆️ 24 weeks & decriminalise abortion entirely. I.e. no rights whatsoever for preborn children 💔 zilch

Yet another attack on vulnerable persons. Violence against people because of race, creed or sexual orientation is completely unacceptable. Ideologies that seek to divide and stoke fear must be called out.

Violence and hatred against any group of humans is unacceptable. Politicians and community leaders need to exercise caution in how immigration is framed and avoid dehumanising language at all times.

Today would have been Fannie Lou Hamer's 107th birthday!

Hamer — a survivor of police brutality, white supremacist attacks, and forced sterilization — devoted her life to working for peace and justice. As an anti-abortion feminist, she didn’t leave anyone behind in her work.
