/12 Someday my kids will do this with the stuff that had meaning to me. I wouldn’t want it to be a burden or source of guilt, a time to acquire more things to clutter homes out of obligation. I want them to toss it or pass it along to someone who will enjoy it or sell it for a few bucks.

There is the actual Democratic Party, which for better or worse is a mostly ordinary liberal political party and then there is the “Democratic Party,” a synecdoche for everything that annoys you online.
