“In the Indigenous worldview, Country means a way of seeing the world. Everything is living. There is no separation between people and nature.” Alison Page, from ‘Design, Building on Country’.

We lost everything because we separated from nature.
Few want to admit that graph is looking like the beginning of an exponential curve. +3 by 2050 is now on the table. To talk about the real consequences is the new taboo.

1/ Complicit scum from a nation that can’t and won’t recognise it’s own genocide:
“Because of colonial genocidal actions like state-sanctioned massacres, the First Nations population went from an estimated 1-1.5 million before invasion to less than 100,000 by the early 1900s…”

I’m trying out Pixelfed as an alternative to Instagram. I’ve enjoyed the creativity of my phone-only photography on Insta but I’m getting out of it. We don’t need oligarchs to be creative and we don’t need to support the shit.

Same here - only use it for messenger. There are other ways to keep in touch so I’m getting out of it and Instagram. Why should we have anything to do with the oligarch toys?

This is heartbreaking. So often I struggle to find words to describe the pain of all this.

The more we moved away from our connectedness with nature, the less creative we became. I often look at how indigenous peoples were creative in all aspects of their existence but in ways that don’t damage and destruct. There was a flow of many small creative acts in everyday life.

“This is a wake-up call,” said author and ACEAS Deputy Director, @profmattengland.bsky.social (UNSW). “The evidence shows us clearly that the MOC has slowed down, and if this trend continues the impacts on human societies, climate and ecosystems will be profound.”
