It feels like people are desperately seeking reasons to still think she sucks even though the facts don't bear that out. If hundreds of millions of people were saying something false about me and it ruined my life, I would want to respond!
Yeah okay but I don't think going to the New York Times about this is a good strategy for making this problem go away.

I think it’s a pretty decent example of the rhetorical use of sexual violence by the political right, which is less about any real objection to the sexual abuse of women or children than it is about casting their enemies and target groups as embroiled in like dark conspiracies of deviance.

People insist this was about “mean girls bullying an autistic guy,” but I’m autistic. I’ve talked about that publicly. But the empathy extended to autistic men for social awkwardness often doesn’t get extended to autistic women who express discomfort, whose tonal missteps are "cold" or "mean".

tbh it confused me too and i think a lot of it just comes from the attitude of "how dare this person i've deemed an undesirable occupy this space that i pictured reserved for women i deem desirable. why can't they know their place?"

rip see you can't even post her most well-known Suicide Squad stills without getting flagged for "adult content." i remember when (mostly) men were whining about the change and i damn well know it would have taken this turn if Margot Robbie et al had a smear campaign against them at the time

justin claimed to want the "female gaze" and blake delivered. and it really adds up when you see people posting what they think Blake/Lily SHOULD have been wearing. it's almost equivalent to saying they wanted Harley Quinn's Suicide Squad wardrobe but Blake delivered Birds of Prey
