8 October 1891 | Jewish woman, Anna Esther Kronik, was born in Vilnius (today Lithuania). In 1911 she emigrated to Norway.

She arrived at #Auschwitz on 1 December 1942 and was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

A lot of the photos in my collection aren’t perfectly in focus, but I have to buy them anyway because it was still a kitty that somebody loved! Besides, how could I resist the happy body language and little eyebrows on this one?

After an evening of rain that we desperately needed the horses enjoyed a day out on some softer ground. Fall is coming in quickly, winter coats are beginning to come in and each horse is beginning to feel a little fuzzy. We allow all of our horses here to get nice and fuzzy before we blanket them.

8 October 1937 | Dutch Jewish girl, Sara van Hasselt, was born in Rotterdam.

In August 1942 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her mother Heintje. They were probably both murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection. Her father, Levie, also perished in Auschwitz.

Another super busy day, 12 hour shift, but mama continues to be a great mama and a sweet lady. ❤️ (Spay/neuter and TNR are so important! She's being a great mama, but she wouldn't be so skinny if she hadn't needed to feed them on top of feeding herself. She's less than 5 lbs, poor girl)

Skinny mama black cat is curled up loosely in her shelter kennel on a white towel. A little black kitten is curled up to her hip, and a little brown tabby kitten is curled up next to him. Mama is looking at me with big green eyes.

7 October 1889 | A Czech Jewish woman, Anna Freundová, was born in Prague.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 15 December 1943. She was registered in the family camp for Jews from #Theresienstadt. She did not survive.
