Mix in that we have 2 young adults at home who we'll count as in our household. They work variably scheduled hospitality jobs. Our income is unpredictable and the insurance situation is punishing.

This year the transition is over a less than $5k income range. Make 123k/ year and health insurance is cheap, make 128k/year and it is 25% of income.

We're right at the "cliff" , with 2 adults at high premium age and a business income that may put above or below the narrow line that differentiates between premiums of less than $500/ month and $3000/ month. Last year they were limited to a % of income, so the transition was gradual.

Idk, possible secondary bacterial lung infection. Possibly flu or covid, the world's a viral swamp. I think both flu and covid have anti-virals that help substantially shorten duration.

New fever and long duration make it a "yes" for me. Maybe your doc has a phone consult option?
