You can list Johnson, truss, and sunak as being worse.

Exactly this! His claim to fame is his part in the scandalous austerity that ruined the lives of millions. Oh, and some performative idiocy to attract voters.

What a dreadful and nasty piece Malik has written. Full of inaccuracies, personal insults, and wishful negativity. And the fact the guardian want me to support them in the same breath as paying this person to write such utter bilge is beyond belief.
February 16, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Sadly he destroys any credibility he might have by accusing Starmer of being authoritarian. He's a student politician proclaiming all kinds of nonsensical things because he doesn't have to answer for anything. I wouldn't want him in charge of the local green bin collection, let alone levers of power

I would really like to know what on earth they think they will achieve, apart from a few slaps on the back from fellow socialist ideologues and the return of a (far) right government. It seems easy for them to be constantly negative and derogatory, without presenting any cogent alternative.
February 15, 2026 at 1:46 PM
Well said, Rick. I'm of a similar view re the Guardian. For the same reasons, I will not contemplate supporting it. Really can't get my head around the nonsense that increasingly gets published there.
February 15, 2026 at 3:32 AM
They are addressing the social and economic needs of the people. They are equally rebuilding after a decade and a half of tory degradation, as well as rebuilding ties with Europe on all fronts. Really can't understand how some can't see this.

I'm saying unions should not be solely responsible for deciding who leads the Labour Party. Seems reasonable.
February 12, 2026 at 7:46 PM
Nobody is saying otherwise Head Like A Hat. They do influence, but they don't and shouldn't decide. More importantly, anyone whose main claim to fame was advising Corbyn as leader shouldn't be taken too seriously.
February 12, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Says the union leader from the far left who campaigned for Corbyn and advised him as leader. Just mischief making.

The point is, it's not offensive to 'think' something, however disgusting. It does however become offensive, and something to apologise for, if you air disgusting thoughts.
February 12, 2026 at 10:19 AM
And quite right of him to do so. Ed Davey is the one who should apologise for himself and his party being an integral part of the disastrous austerity govt.
February 11, 2026 at 3:16 PM
I applaud your tactical voting stance, though I'm still interested to know the party out there without fuckwits✌️🍻.
Not looking for an argument. Just when I read publicly aired views which I vehemently disagree with, then I'll challenge them. Good luck in your constituency 👍
February 10, 2026 at 6:08 PM
So tell us the party you'll vote for which doesn't have fuckwits?
February 10, 2026 at 5:41 PM
1. Not miraculous if he does.
2. You're clearly not a labour voter so your opinion is based on distorted wishful thinking. Tell us the party you'll vote for. The one that doesn't have fuckwits?
3. Mid-term by-elections are often a protest. Not to mention the present twisted media landscape.
February 10, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Not a waste at all. There have been numerous positive policies put in place to repair and rebuild during the past 18 months. None of it would have been possible if Labour had not been in government. Is the world perfect? No, but give me the last 18 months over any period during the previous 15 years
February 10, 2026 at 5:01 PM
Well said Lee. Obviously some mistakes have been made by the govt. But compare these mistakes with the utter corruption and bigotry emanating from the mouths of reform and tory members. There is no comparison of course, simply that much of the media are happier shilling for rascist traitors.
February 9, 2026 at 3:40 PM
Sorry Andrew, but saying nhs in your answer is just nuts. Is the world perfect, now? No, but those to blame are not labour! I hope you know that.
February 5, 2026 at 3:45 PM
'The voters'. Come on. You mean you (Green) and reform/tory for different reasons, equally deluded. If your answer is to accuse others of being smug if they don't follow green, then that's bizarre.
February 5, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Glad to hear your tactical voting position. Voting for one party is always in part an anti other party vote. I hope you respect democracy enough to allow Labour to fulfill the full term and then compare their term of rebuilding with the shit show of the previous 15 years of tories.
February 5, 2026 at 3:37 PM
Vote for who you like to keep reform or tories out 👍. Your spitting claim is beyond belief. Ukrainians might contest that, amongst many many others, principally in the uk. And to me, wanting out of nato, as Mr polanski wants, is immediately a disqualifying position.
February 5, 2026 at 3:31 PM
What I don't get is that, clearly, labour are rebuilding from the mess that was made of the previous 15 years. How can you dislike that? Are they perfect? No. But they, to my mind are by far the best option to govern. Anyway, all good. 😊✌️
