Seems the American market is discovering the genius of Kate Bush.
(Thanks Stranger Things for starting it off, even though it was obvious they didn’t understand what the lyrics to ‘Running Up that Hill’ were actually about) 😂 Let’s hope they get the lyrics to ‘This Woman’s Work’

The Queen did meet heads of state because she had to. Unlike Farage, she didn’t meet with criminals and jailbirds -

Nigel Farage’s #ReformUK is built on 2 companies. A legacy company once privately owned & a company that sits above it. Directors hold power, not members. Constitutions can be changed in private. Assets, including cash, belong to the company, not the membership. Transparency requirements are weak.

‘No Russian money can be allowed in British politics’ ? Good luck, British politics is swimming in Russian money. Farage has always been propped up by it, but the media turn a blind eye.

Covid Inquiry shows that Boris Johnson took time off & behaved irresponsibly & totally unconcernedly as the NHS told him they might be ‘overwhelmed’ by the Covid pandemic, but the Daily Mail are still paying him thousands & giving him a platform to justify his appalling behaviour. Then he…

“Boyle & Garland said that ‘28 Years Later’ explores British isolationism & cultural decline, the film’s quarantined U.K. reflecting a sense of political & cultural detachment following Brexit & the pandemic. Society shifts from forward-looking ideals toward nostalgic myths of a misremembered past”

Rewatched Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix in preparation for the last season 5. Really pleased it gave Kate Bush a namecheck and boost of record sales for the excellent ‘Running up that Hill’ but also painfully obvious that Americans don’t know what that song is actually about. 😏

Typical hypocrisy from the Tory press, here from Andrew Neil, arch Tory, founder of GB News and resident of France (for tax purposes and to avoid the Brexit he helped to promote)

Pulitzer-nominated journalist Sophie Gilbert takes a critical yet absorbing look at the paradox of ’90s ‘feminism’, in which pop culture objectified, sexualised, and infantilised women, then sold it back to them as "girl power."

A rare sighting of transatlantic transplants Ewan McGregor & James McAvoy at the Scottish #BAFTAs in Glasgow. (David Tennant still lives in the U.K. at least) McAvoy likely will present the ‘Lifetime contribution’ award to McGregor (then McGregor can present the same award to McAvoy next year 😂).
