Kathryn Bigelow's back, baby! A House of Dynamite grips you like a vice with an all-star cast and tension that's unbearable in the best way. The ambiguous ending is a chef's kiss. Let your imagination do the work.

Review of ‘A House of Dynamite’ (2025) ★★★★½
Kathryn Bigelow is back, baby! Just when I think I'm done with Netflix and its ridiculous $22.99/month subscription, they drop a few high-quality flicks. This week, it was GDT's Frankenstein and A…

Zoho Social is top-notch. I've been shopping for a social media aggregator for a while, trying both Metricool, HootSuite, and Recurpost. Zoho is hands down the best. The interface is clean, and posting to multiple accounts is a breeze.

This is the funniest of the South Park episodes I've seen so far in 2025. All the major players in the corruption of our freedoms are being satirized here, but the @StephenMiller and @AGPamBondi caricatures are so spot-on it hurts. zurl.co/OEIqm

Bordello of Blood is not a good movie, but it can be fun if you turn off your brain. Dennis Miller + Angie Everhart = campy chaos. Joel Silver stole $750K from special effects to pay Miller, and you can see it on screen.

Review of ‘Bordello of Blood’ (1996) ★★★
Let me get this out of the way: Bordello of Blood is not a good movie. But there is fun to be had here if you turn your brain off and go with the flow. Dennis Miller's pervasive improvisations and…

First time watching Halloween II as a double feature. How it should always be done. One long nightmare. That hospital claustrophobia and burning finale--chef's kiss. 5 stars. zurl.co/woQbF

Review of ‘Halloween II’ (1981) ★★★★★
This was my first time ever watching Halloween and Halloween II back-to-back. Waited 40 years to watch it on Halloween night, and holy shit does it change the experience. These movies are basically…

After 25+ viewings, Halloween is still the slasher blueprint. That 5/4 Carpenter score, the house crawl kills, and Michael's doorway materializations are pure cinema. The third-best horror movie ever made. #Halloween #JohnCarpenter #Slasher

Review of ‘Halloween’ (1978) ★★★★★
I've seen Halloween at least 25 times (which doesn't come close to Gary's watch count. The review I linked to is his 15th just on Letterboxd. This was my first immersive rewatch in a long while,…

I saw Altered States at 13, and it rewired my puritanical Catholic brain. On the Criterion 4K Blu-ray, Cronenweth's cinematography pops, and Corigliano's score sets your soul on fire. The ape-man scene hits just as hard 45 years later.

Review of ‘Altered States’ (1980) ★★★★½
I was 13 when I first saw Altered States, and it blew my prepubescent mind. I'd already seen Animal House and Dawn of the Dead, so sex and horror weren't exactly new things to me. But Ken Russell's…

I keep telling myself nothing @realdonaldtrump can do will surprise me, and then he does this. Have you seen the Fall Out TV series? It's essentially radiated surface dwellers vs. MAGA oligarchs in high-end vaults. Back in 2022, I thought it was a fantasy—not anymore. zurl.co/ZIh7q

Review of ‘Good Boy’ (2025) ★★★

Give Amy Madigan an Oscar for Weapons. Why Not?
Madigan deftly navigates the film’s wild tonal shifts, giving us the scariest and silliest horror-movie villain in years. Why not award her for it?
