Both Montgomery County-Norristown Library and Lower Providence Community Library serve residents all around our community, and I’m proud to have voted for this funding increase.

Starting with a Willie Mays’ child-level biography all the way up to graduate-level research, books have had a tremendous impact on my life.

For me, access to books and information is a longstanding and personal commitment. As young as eight years old, librarians suggested books to me that changed my world and answered questions I wasn’t even thinking about asking yet.

This will have a direct impact on our community, with the Montgomery County-Norristown Library receiving a $152,236 funding increase and the Lower Providence Community Library receiving a $6,540 increase.

The grants were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which oversees the state’s distribution of gaming revenues to support public projects.

- Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority/Historic Trappe: $267,500 for restoration of historic stone wall and ADA patio.
- Collegeville Borough: $236,000 for 6th Avenue culvert replacement.
- Lower Providence Township: $49,245 for codes department electric vehicle.

As listed:
- Upper Providence Township: $300,000 for public works campus phase one site preparation and salt storage.
- Lower Providence Township Sewer Authority: $300,000 for mine run interceptor sewer replacement.
