Oh lord, I just put DJT and Covid-19 into Attention Junction and went for a brief walk down Memory Hell Lane. I need to adjust this thing so it can search specific years instead of just spans.

This is EXACTLY why I made MiniGladys, which uses Wikipedia page views to track public interest and allow you to quickly catch up on celebrities.

A quick look tells me that Nicki's last big day of public interest was September 16, 2021: SwollenTesticlesGate.

I looked up Rhode Island TV on Local Search America and they seemed to have good coverage. I think unfortunately news media trust fed gov reflexively and that should have stopped ages ago

With the release of new #Epstein photographs, I'm spending some time with AttentionJunction.com. It detects patterns of public interest in two Wikipedia articles, then finds overlaps.

Very useful when you're looking for articles on Woody Allen and Jeffrey Epstein, for example.

Y'all I don't have a David Copperfield file. Instead I'm using a tool called Wikipedia Seismograph. It analyzes Wikipedia page views & creates a "seismograph" of public interest spikes which you can turn to date-bounded Google News searches.

Free, no ads, no AI.

This thread was brought to you by Congress Corral, which uses #Wikipedia page view data to analyze public interest since 2017 in current #Congress members . High-interest dates are turned into date-bounded Google searches which I turn into a thread for you.

Once the user has found the public interest overlap, they can create date-based Google / Google News searches for that span, featuring one or both of the Wikipedia articles.

Free to use, no ads. Also fun.

Here's what I'm using to find these news stories: attentionjunction.com . Attention Junction looks at the page views of two Wikipedia articles, finds times of high public interest (view count) and then maps the overlaps in interest between the two articles.

This is Baker's Wikipedia Seismograph from 1 January 2017 to 1 January 2024. You can see between roughly 2020-2022 he was attracting a lot of public interest. It settled down for a while but now it looks like it's swinging up again
