Japanese law, society, politics, then add gender and stir. Librarian, Okinawa Collection and Japan Resource Center, George Washington University. Views are my own, but who’s paying attention?
Can someone kindly explain the yellow highlight thingy to me?

What is the Japanese saying that is the equivalent of "Jinx! Knock on wood!" when you and another person say the same thing at the same time? I heard this somewhere and cannot recall it.

Approximately 20 members of Elon Musk’s staff have begun working within the Education Department. They have gained access to multiple sensitive internal systems, including a financial aid dataset containing the personal information of millions of students enrolled in the federal student aid program.

Giving access to SSNs, other data on government employees to non-employees like Musk is a violation of 5 USC 552a, and carries with it a penalty of $1000 per person whose data was accessed. We are building a case. Govt employees who want to participate should contact me directly

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

Heartbroken. Thoughts with the victims and their families. I regularly fly out of DCA and drive by it everyday. Stunned.

MJ, my man.
Listen, I have two rules for this place:
1. Weed, not weebs
2. Accounts that are about weed get blocked.
I did not make these rules. They were in the 1928 Theses, and while I have always disagreed with the Comintern line, they were really strong on this matter. Even Yamakawa agreed about weebs.
